Questions, answered
How do you fit faux stone panels?
Faux stone panels go onto a clean, flat, dry wall with PU-compatible construction adhesive and screws; there is no mortar and no wet trades. Let the panels acclimatise flat in the room for 24 hours, make sure the first row is level and straight, then apply PU-compatible construction adhesive to each panel and screw it into place, working in full rows from the bottom and staggering the joints. A blade with 80 teeth or more gives the cleanest cut. Our fitting guide has the full steps.

Can I fit faux stone panels myself?
Yes. Many of the projects in this gallery were fitted by homeowners, and each photo is labelled DIY or Contractor where we know who did the work. You need a tape measure, a level, a saw, a power screwdriver, screws and adhesive. Stick-A-Stone is our peel-and-stick range: no special skills are needed and you do not need a builder, but it is for indoor walls only.
Can I order a sample before I buy?
Yes. Order a sample before a panel order, because the pigment is hand-finished and no screen shows it honestly. Samples start at £5.99 (Stick-A-Stone samples are £9.99), the sample price is credited back against a panel order, and delivery is free to every UK address. In-stock samples ordered before 12pm on a working day are dispatched the same day. Every gallery photo has an Order a sample button for its colour where a sample is available.
Can faux stone panels be used outside?
Lightning Ridge is made for interior and exterior walls. Stick-A-Stone is for indoor walls only because its adhesive backing is for interior walls. The panels are moulded from closed-cell polyurethane, which is non-porous and does not rot. Outside, fix to a solid, continuous surface with PU-compatible construction adhesive and exterior-grade corrosion-resistant screws, and apply a clear UV topcoat every 3 to 5 years, especially on walls in direct sun. Building regulations apply to exterior work, so check with your building control body if you are unsure.
Are Tritan BP faux stone panels fire rated?
Lightning Ridge is independently tested and classified B-s1, d0 to EN 13501-1:2018 (tested product: the 30 mm stone-profile panel). The classification applies to panels mechanically fixed to an A1 or A2 rated non-combustible substrate, with horizontal joints. Every other range is made from the same polyurethane formulation and its own classification is in progress, including Stick-A-Stone, which fixes with its own adhesive backing. The material is not classified as non-combustible and must not be used where A1 or A2 rated materials are legally required.
What are the panels made of, and how big are they?
Tritan BP panels are moulded from lightweight rigid polyurethane. A Lightning Ridge panel is 120 × 60 cm and covers 0.68 m². A Stick-A-Stone box holds 8 panels of 35 × 21.6 cm and covers 0.5 m². Colour-matched touch-up kits, universal external corners, ledge trim and a Stick-A-Stone starter strip are available separately.
Will the colour match the photos in the gallery?
The panels are hand-finished, so colour varies by about 10 to 15% between production batches, and screens and lighting change how colour looks. Order a sample and view it in your own space, and order enough panels to finish the whole job at once.
How can I share a photo or submit my own project?
Open any photo and use the Pinterest, Facebook, X or copy-link buttons. The image shared to Pinterest carries a small Tritan BP watermark. To be featured in the gallery, email your photo or video to support@tritanbp.co.uk with the product, the colour, whether it was fitted by a DIYer or a contractor, and your permission to share it.
